Toni Luaton, the woman behind the 'Modern Ruth Project'

Newly-crowned Mrs. Tourism Ambassador for Education 2021 TONIRUTH 'Toni' Manzano LUATON shared her advocacy and project in a conversation with this blogger via Facebook Messenger, to wit : 

"As part of my initiative in delivering quality education through the improvement of mothers' lives, I have created the Modern Ruth Project which is geared towards empowering women for nation-building. 

This consists of a series of free workshops and webinars on developing intrapersonal and interpersonal skills. 

My mission is to deliver it to as many mothers as possible. 

I believe that at such a time as this, women need to be strengthened so they can step up and do something for society. 

I want to help them improve themselves so they can also improve their families and communities. I believe that mothers have the power to change the world."



Fondly called as Toni by her family, friends and peers, she is a Grade 2 teacher at Barangay Kaybanban Paradise Farms Community  School in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.  She has been teaching for the past four years. 

Also a registered nurse, Toni practiced it for a year then  worked in the corporate world for eight years.



Toni said, "As a Registered Nurse, I know how important it is to take care of our bodies. I saw many people getting sick due to bad health habits. I want my students to stay healthy and grow up knowing how to properly take care of themselves, so I always include health teaching in my classes."   


36-year old Toni, a single mom to a 10-year old son, won in the 4th Mrs. Tourism Pageant held virtually on August 3.  She also bagged the Best in Talent 1st runner-up award. 



Toni was formally installed by Megastar Productions CEO Ovette Ricalde as Mrs. Tourism Ambassador for Education 2021 during the Official Sashing and Crowning Ceremony held in San Jose del Monte on October 3. 


Today, October 5, as the whole universe celebrates World Teachers' Day, here's wishing Mam Toni Luaton, her peers and all teachers worldwide, a very Happy Teachers' Day!  👩‍🏫❤👨‍🏫
