Heaven Peñaflorida : A Woman of Substance

"In this world we live in, it is perceived that women are weak, vulnerable and helpless.  Somewhere, even used and abused.  To stop this, the change has begin within ourselves.  Show everyone what we are capable of, encourage every woman to lend a helping hand whether a small act of kindness, boost other's confidence, or simply spread the awareness. I will empower women and educate people in ending violence against women and children.  Now, it's time to act as one.  And together,  we can make it happen."  

Those are inspiring and encouraging words from HEAVEN PEÑAFLORIDA, official candidate no. 8 of Mrs. Universe Philippines 2021 representing Makati City. 

Heaven is among the 18 equally accomplished, empowered and gorgeous married women and single moms who are vying for the coveted Mrs. Universe Philippines 2021 crown and title to be staged tentatively on September 10 at Okada Manila. 

Other titles at stake are Mrs. Pacific Continental 2021 and Mrs. North Pacific Asia 2021.  

The three eventual titleholders will travel to South Korea for the international competition later this year. 

Subsidiary titles, Mrs. Luzon 2021, Mrs. Visayas 2021, Mrs. Mindanao 2021 and two runners-up will also be awarded during the Grand Coronation Night. 

Organized and produced by Mrs. Universe Philippines 2019 Maria Charo Calalo, the search is the first ever physical pageant that will select Philippine delegates to Mrs. Universe contest. 

Previous representatives were tapped or handpicked.

Heaven who looks younger than her real age, 32, is a doting single mother to two boys, 11 and 9. 

During the height of the pandemic, she became a fur mom to two Pomerianan puppies named Covid and 19. 

A native of San Pedro, Laguna, she's a Mass Communication graduate from Adamson University. 

Now legally known as Heaven, her real name at birth was Leni, inspired from actress Leni Santos of 'Anna Liza' fame, a popular 'teleserye' during the '80s.  

Heaven's true-to-life story is literally a 'rags to riches.' 

An adopted child who had experienced hardships in life in early years.  There were days that she survived by eating macopa fruits. 

Born to a Japanese father and a Pinay mother, Heaven used to appear in cameo roles in television and was a part time model. At a tender age of 17, she started working as a Call Center Agent, then after a couple of years, as a Flight Attendant.

Until she became a Tour Guide, Real Estate Broker and Executive Assistant rolled-into-one. 

She presently owns a boutique named 'Affiniqchic'  located at Unit 1705, Cityland 10, Tower 2, H.V. Dela Costa St., Makati City.

Heaven is also a social media influencer who has 25K followers as of this writing. 

These were revealed to pageant media and bloggers by Heaven during a Meet & Greet held at Sulagan Resort in Dasmariñas, Cavite on August 28. 

With barely two weeks left before the finals, Heaven shared that she's undergoing rigorous training on personality development, pasarela, communication skills, hair and make-up under her hardworking Glam Team whom she treats as part of her own family. 

Heaven was immensely grateful in thanking all the men and women behind her Mrs. Universe Philippines  journey. 

"Mrs. Universe Philippines's advocacy is really about empowering women and then influence the children of tomorrow, so it's very aligned with my advocacy since what I'm really doing right now is trying to inspire women specially those who had been through tough times. That despite of all the challenges, you just have to face them. You just have to be strong enough so you can be an inspiration to others," an inspiring message from Heaven.

Indeed, HEAVEN PEÑAFLORIDA is undoubtedly a classic example of "a woman with substance."
