The Smilee Apparel Center, a manufacturer, retailer and wholesaler of high-quality shirts, owned by Lloyd Lee, 2011 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup-Lee and family had its grand opening rites on Saturday, January 18, 2020.
The one-stop shop, a 10-story building strategically located at 701 Reina Regente St, corner Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz, Binondo, Manila is "an architectural masterpiece re-created with passion envisioned to be the home of shirts made with the highest standard and quality is finally opening its doors to the Filipinos."
Smilee Apparel's tagline "The Shirt That Sets The Standards" will live up to everyone's expectations.
Lloyd said, "We ensure the quality of our products with the help of our own knitting, dyeing and garments companies. We integrate good quality materials, state-of-the-art machinery and equipment not to mention highly skilled and experienced personnel to ensure our valued customers with high quality garments at a competitive price and provide them with excellent service."
Smilee Apparel's items are customer-friendly especially when it comes to prices.
"The prices are so affordable. Like our Jersey Round Neck Shirts which are available in 21 different colors cost P105.00 - P120.0 for 6 pieces and above, P125 - P190.00 for below 6 pieces, depending on sizes. On top of that if you buy 120-599 pieces, you will get a fixed discount of P1.00 per piece, 600-1199 pieces with P1.50 discount per piece and 1200 pieces and above with P2.00 discount per piece," said Shamcey.
Lloyd added, "Our store also offers Pique Polo shirts, Tuck Polo shirts, Fleece Hoodies, Sportswears (Coolpass CD Round Neck and Coolpass CD Polo shirts) which are of better quality, in vibrant colors and better sizes."
Aside from Binondo, Lloyd and Shamcey are committed to serve as many customers in different parts of the metropolis.
"We plan to open 10 more stores which are within reach of our valued customers. Next in line is in Cubao area and to follow suit are in Monumento, Caloocan City and Baclaran, Parañaque City, among others," the Lee couple shared.
Lloyd's father, CEO Mr. Paul Lee (photo below, 2nd from left), gave an inspirational message and interesting anecdotes on his journey as a textile businessman.
A cheque of P1,000,000.00 was prepared for the City of Manila and to be presented to Hon. Mayor Isko Moreno during the event but for some reasons, Mayor Isko was conspicuously absent. No representative attended on his behalf.
Some of the highlights of the Grand Opening Rites were the Chinese rituals on the opening of a business including the Dragon Dance, the eye-dotting ritual where the owners dipped the paint brush with ink and dot the dragon's pupil to give the business a golden touch so that money will roll in and various offerings.
The affair was graced by the couple's family members including kids : 4-year old Nyke and a year old Peter Nathan, Shamcey's mom Marcy, Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista who serenaded the attendees, business associates and friends.
Also in attendance were members of tri-media (television, print and digital).
The Smilee Apparel Center in Binondo, Manila officially opened to the public the next day, January 19. The store is open from Monday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The 3rd floor houses the display area of assorted shirts neatly segregated under ECONO, BASIC CASUAL, SPORTS, PREMIUM and LIMITED EDITION, Fitting Room, Releasing and Cashier.

Of course an event or a gathering is not complete without feeding the guests with yummylicious foods.
Catered by the couple's Pedro 'N Coi, the attendees were served... with mouth-watering dishes, delicious desserts and cool assorted drinks.
